Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA (02118) – Massachusetts psychiatric jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Center
• Assignment Length: 4 weeks to start, with potential extension for 4-8 additional weeks
• Shifts per Week: 5 (Monday – Friday)
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days (8am – 4pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $3720 - $4400
• Patient Volume: 12-14 patients daily
• Start Date: March 2, 2026

Psych NP Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry or behavioral health
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) certification
• Licensed or eligible for Massachusetts NP licensure, including controlled substance license
• Inclusive, patient-centered approach to mental health care
• Experience supporting vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use disorders
• Commitment to excellence in clinical psychiatric care

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Conduct evidence-based psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for patients
• Prescribe medications and provide psychotherapeutic interventions
• Deliver independent or supervised care in accordance with Massachusetts healthcare regulations
• Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists
• Coordinate care and communicate with case managers, family members, and other stakeholders
