President's Message: Happy New Year!

Hello NEGAPNA Chapter,

The NEGAPNA Board Welcomes you to the Chapter and appreciate your ongoing membership and support.

Let me begin by saying “Thank You” to all our members. We are going into our 11th year as a chapter and look forward to connecting with you.

I want to express my gratitude to outgoing board members Kellie LaPierre, Director at Large, Sheri Peabody, Secretary and Past President, Linda Barnard. I want to acknowledge Karin Broden for her contribution as President and continued leadership and guidance as Past President.

The NEGAPNA Board of Directors are excited and looking forward to 2018.

Our Regional CE event will be held in Rhode Island on May 5, 2018. We will be sending out details soon as well as information on our upcoming Educational Needs Assessment to help us learn what you are looking for in continuing education.

Our Annual scholarship information will be communicated to the membership within the next month.

Please consider attending the March 2018 Contemporary Pharmacology & Prescribing in Older Adults Conference in Boston, MA. This conference was planned by members of our chapter, we will have a chapter table. So please stop by to say hello. More information will be available soon.

Congratulations to Sue Mullaney, DNP, GNP-BC winner of the GAPNA Excellence in Leadership award. Her contributions to GAPNA have made a lasting impact.

Congratulations to Katherine Howard, DNP, GNP-BC. She obtained her DNP from The Frontier Nursing University. Her capstone project was Timely APRN-Led Post-Falls Assessment for LTC Residents.

Amy Bruno, PhD, ANP-BC presented Assessment & Management of Tremors in Primary Care at the Boston 2017 NPACE conference.

Monica Dube, DNP FNP-BC, presented to local UConn NP students on Advanced Care Planning

Samara Russell, DNP, had her manuscript on Hypodermic clysis accepted to GAPNA column the January/February addition of Geriatric Nursing
