2018 NEGAPNA Election

Dear NEGAPNA Member,
It is time to cast your vote and select members for the Board of Directors for 2018-2019. Each candidate has made a personal commitment to serve NEGAPNA in a leadership role. Please view the candidates’ statements and biographical information below and follow the link below to then cast your vote.

Candidate:
Anne Marie Caron, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, GS-C
Anne Marie Caron has been employed with Optum for the past 12 years as an adult Nurse Practitioner in geriatric medicine. Over the past 5 years, she has been employed as a Clinical Services Manager, responsible for the oversight of a team of Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants with a focus on acute illness and chronic disease management of long-term care and short-term rehabilitation patients. She has been responsible for the development and clinical growth of her team, development of best clinical practice and improvement of quality metrics. Anne Marie also serves as part-time faculty in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, teaching in the Adult Gerontology Primary Care track with a didactic educational focus on chronic illness management and geriatric medicine. Anne Marie is also an American Heart Association Certified BLS Instructor.
Anne Marie received her BA degree in psychology and her BS degree in nursing from Curry College. She received her MSN degree as an adult nurse Practitioner from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and her DNP degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Anne Marie has also recently received her Gerontological Specialist Certification.
Anne Marie was a member of the planning committee for the 2018 Contemporary Pharmacology and Prescribing in Older Adults Conference in Boston, MA. In addition, being a member of Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA), Anne Marie is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (MCNP), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners (NCGNP), NP Alliance of Rhode Island (NPARI).

Amy Bruno, Amy Bruno, PhD, ANP-BC
Amy is a 1998 graduate of Rhode Island College where she received her BS in Nursing and BA in Psychology. Her MSN at UMASS Dartmouth and graduated in 2004 in the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program. In 2016, she obtained her PhD in Nursing at UMASS Dartmouth.
Amy is an Assistant Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) where she also serves as the co-coordinator for the Adult-Gero Primary Care NP program. For the last nine years, she has worked in neurology and has a special interest in caring for the geriatric population, particularly individuals diagnosed with movement disorders and dementia.
Amy is passionate about educating nurse practitioners on geriatric health issues and strives to bring her passion for elder care to the classroom and clinical environments. Her research focused on qualitative methods and fatigue in Parkinson’s disease

Elizabeth Weinshel MSN, APRN, GNP-BC
Elizabeth is a graduate of Yale University School of Nursing, MSN with a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Concentration and Adult Psychiatric- Mental Health Subspecialty.
Elizabeth is the Director Clinical Operations UnitedHealth Group Optum Complex Care Management.
