NEGAPNA is thrilled to announce that Christine Bottone has been chosen as the 2019 Scholarship winner. Please join us in congratulating Christine as she continues to pursue her education in caring of aging adults.
Christine Alexandra Bottone is a graduate student enrolled in the University of Connecticut’s Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program and employed full-time as a RN House Supervisor at Autumn Lake Healthcare in New Britain, Connecticut. Christine obtained an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Norwalk Community College, in Norwalk, Connecticut in May 2017. After obtaining her RN licensure in July 2017, she directly enrolled in a RN-to-BSN program and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a 4.0/4.0 GPA in August 2018. Christine has been a graduate student enrolled in the University of Connecticut’s Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program since August 2018 and currently possesses a 4.15/4.0 GPA.
Christine has volunteer, direct patient care, charge nursing, and supervisory/management experience in long-term care facilities. She has experience in community health nursing and nursing outreach education at Chatham Health District in East Hampton, Connecticut. She is the author of a manuscript discussing an innovative care approach for the full code hospice patient accepted for publication in American Nurse Todayand is a co-author for a chapter on menopause for an updated edition of a text for health care professionals and students.
Christine holds active memberships in the following professional organizations: CT American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, as well as student memberships in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the New England Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association.
