A message from Anne Marie Caron, president of NEGAPNA, on Covid-19

Posted over 5 years ago by Anne Marie Caron

To my fellow colleagues,

The first cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) were reported in Wuhan, China in December of 2019. It has since spread globally into what is now a pandemic. Over the past few weeks, the impact of Covid-19 has disrupted our lives, both personally and professionally, in an unprecedented manner and with astounding speed. Older adults are especially vulnerable to serious illness and poor outcomes of Covid-19.

As a profession, we have the capacity to be extraordinary in the face of adversity. As we face uncertainty in the days and weeks ahead, practice with purpose, practice with passion. You are on the front line ensuring our older adults receive the highest standard of care.  You are paramount in supporting the health and well-being of our older adults.  As a community of healthcare professionals, we will overcome the challenges that lay ahead of us. We will overcome those challenges with compassion and humanity. We will overcome those challenges together as a community of health professionals dedicated to the care of older adults.

With highest regards,

Anne Marie Caron
