Call for Nominations for 2022 - 2023 NEGAPNA Open Board of DirectorPositions:
Calling all Advanced Practice Nurses: nominations are now being accepted for open Board of Director positions. If you have ever wanted to use your leadership skills to help promote geriatric practice and education, now if your chance.
The New England Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (NEGAPNA) is seeking nominations for several volunteer leadership positions on the Board of Directors (BOD).
In your role as a Board member, you will influence the direction of the organization as it strives to achieve its mission of better care for older adults across New England through gerontological advanced practice nursing, education and research.
A candidate must be a regular or retired member and have been an active member of GAPNA for a minimum of one-year preceding nomination. Candidate must also be a member in good standing (paid to date and/or renewed) throughout the election process. Nomination does not guarantee that a person’s name will appear on the final slate.

The following positions are open for the 2022-2023 NEGAPNA Board term:
President-Elect (3-year term – President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President):
The President-Elect serves as a member of the Board of Directors and performs the following functions:
- Performs duties as assigned by the President;
- Automatically assumes the office of President at the end of the President’s term or in the event of a vacancy in the office of President;
- Develops a thorough understanding of the bylaws and policies of the Society, and Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised;
- Works closely with the President;
- Develops and prepares goals for upcoming term as President;
- Establishes contact with the National Office staff for the operation of the Society;
- Recognizes and advises of changing outside influences which may affect the decisions of the Board;
- Participates in the development and implementation of the strategic plan;
- Contributes articles to newsletter as required; completes other duties as assigned.
