Please help a colleague who is considering opening up practice for Department of Transportation Physicals. She is looking for any words of advice related to malpractice insurance, marketing and business plan.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on your licensure state. Opening any business is tough, but I found much help from Small Business Association SCORE (business plan, marketing, website, SEO, etc.). Carolyn Buppert's book is helpful and NPBO online has many helpful hints, templates and malpractice. Good luck and I wish someone had told me don't quit your day job until you are open six months with customers. Will you bill privately?
